American League Final Standings & League Leaders

Well, I launched this all-time franchise season back in May of 2020, so these final stats have been three years in the making. Ideally, I would have liked to have a more timely finish to this campaign, but I was into many roster creation projects for MLB The Show 20 which presented a delicate balance between doing that and actually playing the game.

Here are the final stats and standings for the American League. Some Red Sox highlights include Wade Boggs leading the league in hits but sadly losing out on the batting crown to Al Kaline by 2 points. Ted Williams finished third with his .325 mark and was tied for the most doubles with Jose Altuve. Pedro Martinez was the league's only 20-game winner, and he also finished fourth in ERA. Roger Clemens was second in pitching WAR and fourth in strikeouts. Despite being hard luck in the win-loss column, Jon Lester had the second-best ERA in the league. Boston will host the wildcard game against the Cleveland Indians, and more will come on the playoffs in a later post. The season was launched on MLB The Show 19, but I am going to complete the playoffs on MLB The Show 20.
