The Sensational 70s - ' 78 Yankees @ ' 75 Red Sox

I figured I'd ride the wave of a very satisfying Opening Day win by the Sawx in Philly and provide an update on my virtual baseball season. For more info on "The Sensational 70s" project, click here.

It was payback time for the Sawx in the opening game of a three game series at Fenway. The Red Sox were swept in New York in four straight games, but they didn't waste any time exacting their vengeance against Yankee starter Dick Tidrow, who didn't make it out of the fifth inning. Below are this game's top plate producers along with their current season averages and game highlights.

Since my last update , Boston got the brooms out and swept the '77 Rangers at home before embarking on a 7 game road  trip. Making stops in New York and Chicago, they dropped the first five games on this trip which included the Yankees debacle mentioned above before rebounding with two wins in Chicago to take that series against the '77 White Sox. Returning home, the Sawx split four games with the Orioles before the Bronx Bombers arrived in town. The offense was slow out of the gate but is now rounding into form as Boston has won 5 of their last 7 games. Below are the current AL East standings.
